There are currently many different methodologies that can be used for the estimation of water balance environmental systems. And one of such techniques, which is becoming popular is the use of stable isotopes. Project members under the guidance of Dr. Vadim Yapiyev from Nazarbayev University have collected samples from the Small Taldykol lake system before the beginning of ice period. The collected samples will be analyzed in the future using Water Isotope Analyzer (IWA-91) available at Nazarbayev University.
